Candidate for U.S. Senate in Alabama
Barry Moore is a politician currently serving as the U.S. representative for Alabama’s 1st congressional district. He is running for the U.S. Senate in Alabama in the 2026 midterm elections. Moore reports finding his religion while sitting in a fraternity house in Alabama watching Pat Robinson:
“I found myself prone before the Lord with tears in a fraternity house and that began that process of kind of redirecting my path."
That path called him to run for state legislature in 2008 after sharing fears that America was no longer ‘a Christian nation.’ And again in 2020, he claims it was God’s will that he run for U.S. Congress.
Meanwhile, Moore was arrested in 2014 on four felony counts, including first-degree perjury and providing false statements to a grand jury. In 2021, Moore objected to the certification of the 2020 presidential election results in Congress and was one of the 147 lawmakers who voted to overturn the election results following the January 6th insurrection. Also that year, Moore was suspended from his then-Twitter account for disinformation posts about the stealing of an election and a racist post about the death of Ashli Babbitt.
Moore repeatedly expresses anti-Muslim rhetoric, and claims banning sharia law in Alabama is one of his top priorities. In 2026, he introduced the CRUSADE Act, which would require immigrants applying for a religious worker visa to disavow sharia law.

Moore repeatedly showcases his Christian nationalist views through his policy stances, his consistent anti-Muslim rhetoric, and his assertion of America as a Christian nation (only a particular type of Christianity, of course). He skirts the law, threatens political opponents, sows doubt about elections, and does it all while claiming he is following God’s call. Barry Moore is a 2026 False Prophet.
