FALSE PROPHET

Samuel Alito

Supreme Court Justice

Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Alito, nominated to the Court by President George W. Bush, believes that the United States needs to return to “a place of Godliness.” He has also expressed the belief that there is a “growing hostility to religion,” and is the author of some of the most troubling recent Supreme Court opinions, including the Dobbs decision that repealed 50 years of legal precedent protecting privacy, bodily autonomy, and reproductive rights.

In 2024, in an apparent violation of the limited ethics rules for SCOTUS justices, the “An Appeal to Heaven” flag was spotted flying in front of Alito’s house. The flag is frequently flown at far-right, Christian nationalist events by supporters of the Big Lie. Alito claimed his wife had chosen to display the controversial flag. The Alitos are also reported to have flown a U.S. flag upside down in January 2021 – something done by MAGA supporters who sought to overturn the 2020 election and participated in the 2021 insurrection at the time.

Alito also has ties to fellow False Prophet Leonard Leo, co-chairman of the Federalist Society, and other wealthy religious-right donors such as Paul Signer, who have lavished unreported gifts and trips on Alito and Justice Clarence Thomas.
